DR CATH MORGAN, PhD, PT, Lead of the General Movements training for Early Detection the CRE network, Senior Research Fellow, CP Alliance is a Physiotherapist with PhD in Biomedical Science and >30 years clinical and research experience in the field of Cerebral Palsy. As Senior Research Fellow at the Cerebral Palsy Alliance Research Institute, at the University of Sydney she is part of an internationally recognised team of researchers conducting clinical trials of novel interventions geared to preventing, curing and treating cerebral palsy, early diagnosis of CP, and knowledge translation across the pipeline from bench-to-bedside-to-policy. Dr Morgan is one of two General Movements Trainers in Australia and coordinates a network of clinicians and researchers focused on improving the early detection of cerebral palsy in high risk infants in NSW. Dr Morgan has led the establishment of the first Australian early diagnostic clinic for cerebral palsy in the western suburbs of Sydney through a collaboration with the Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Cerebral Palsy Alliance. Dr Morgan is leading a large early intervention RCT in infants with CP as well as an international longitudinal study of 1000 infants with CP. For the CRE Dr Morgan will lead the Early Detection training.
