Aims: We have successfully treated seizures following Hypoxic Ischemic Injury with Ganaxolone in the lamb. Trials continue to determine whether GNX confers superior neuroprotection to phenobarbitone. Infants whom have neonatal seizures have a high risk of developing CP.
New knowledge: This trial will inform the influence of neonatal seizures on brain damage. If successful it will shift the way newborn seizures are treated and will rapidly evolve to clinical trial.
